According to a forecast of the Rosario Grain Exchange, the soybean production in Argentina is projected to reach 27 million tons in 2022/23 (-7.5 compared to the previous estimate), which is 45% below initial expectations and the lowest level for the last 15 years.
– In March, a record 4.35 million tons of wheat will be exported from Russia, according to Rusagrotrans’ forecast. The previous best was in March 2018 when 3.58 million tons were exported. In February, the indicator was 3.26 million tons.
– Over the period of September – February, the export of sunseed from Ukraine reached a record 1.54 million tons according to the data of APC – Inform. About 80% of exports are directed to the EU and 19% to Turkey. 429,000 tons of sunseed were sent to Bulgaria and 406,000 tons to Romania. In the second half of 2022/23, sunseed exports from Ukraine are projected to be within 800,000 – 900,000 tons.
– In January, wheat exports from Canada were 2.7 million tons (1.92 in December and 2.45 in January 2022). This is the highest level since July 2020. Over the period of August – January, the export of soft wheat was 9.94 million tons (5.89), including 1.89 million tons for China.
– According to a forecast by the Unem association, ethanol production in Brazil will be 6 billion liters in 2023/24 (+36%). Ethanol produced from corn will account for 19% of total production.

– In January, 3.3 million tons of wheat were exported from Australia (+25% compared to December and +26% compared to January 2022). From the beginning of 2022/23, exports reached 9.8 million tons (+25%). In January, canola exports were 715,100 tons (-6% and -6%), and since the beginning of the season they totalled 2.3 million tons (+42%).
– Algeria and bought 200,000 tons of durum wheat of any origin at a price of 440 – 449 USD/ton C&F and delivery in April.
– Saudi Arabia has announced a tender for the supply of 480,000 tons of milling wheat with delivery within July-August.
– Jordan has bought 50,000 tons of feed barley against a plan of 120,000 tons at a price of 279.5 USD/ton C&F and delivery at the end of July. Offers were at prices of 284.7 – 312 USD/ton C&F.
