– The Government of Russia introduces a quota for the export of grain from the country during the period 15.02.13.06.2023 in the amount of 25 million tons. In 2021/22, the quota was 11 million tons. According to IKAR’s forecast, grain exports from Russia will reach 55.5 million tons in 2022/23, including wheat exports of 45.5 million tons – a record achievement.

– Chicago commodity funds were net sellers of 2,000 corn contracts and net buyers of 4,000 soybeans and 4,500 wheat contracts yesterday.

– Anec has lowered its forecast for soybean exports from Brazil in January to 1.2 million tons (-0.2 compared to the previous estimate and -1 million tons compared to January 2022). The export of soymeal reached 1.4 million tons (-0.1 and 1.5), of corn 5 million tons (-0.2 and 2.2).

– As of 27.01.2023, 98.8% of the planned soybean areas in Argentina have been sown. In recent weeks, rainfall has stabilized the condition of the crops.

– According to the forecast of the USDA attaché in Argentina, the soybean production in Argentina will be 36 million tons in 2022/23, which is 9.5 million tons below the official USDA forecast. The sunseed production is projected at 4 million tons.

– Argentine farmers have sold 80.8% of their 2021/22 soybean crop (83% a year earlier). During the week of January 19-25, sales were 56,200 tons, one of the lowest figures for recent months. Corn sales were 77.4% (79.4%). From the 2022/23 soybean crop, 7.1 million tons of wheat were sold.

– According to data from AmSpec Agri Malaysia, palm oil exports from Malaysia reached 1.07 million tons in January (1.46 in December).

– Algeria bought 300,000 tons of durum at 448 – 450 USD/ton C&F for Panamax vessels and 458 – 459 USD/ton C&F for Handysize vessels. Deliveries will be made within February – March.

– At the announced tender for the purchase of corn, the state company of Egypt GASC has received the following offers for sale with delivery within 02.02 – 10.03.2023:

*50,000 tons from Ukraine at 325 USD/ton C&F.

*50,000 tons from Romania at 322 USD/ton C&F.

*30,000 tons from Romania at USD 316/ton C&F.

*50,000 tons from Bulgaria (Buildcom) at a price of 320.77 USD/ton C&F.

*40,000 tons from Argentina at 316 USD/ton C&F.

*60,000 tons from the United States at 300 USD/ton C&F.

– The state company of Egypt GASC has purchased 10,000 tons of sunseed oil with a price of 1,236.40 USD/ton C&F and 25,000 tons of soyoil at prices of 1,335 – 1,499 USD/ton C&F with deliveries within 25.02 – 30.03.2023.
