Refinitiv Commodities Research has lowered its forecast for the 2023/24 EU soft wheat production by 1 million tons to 131.2 million tons (126 in 2022/23).
– Over the period of April 1-25, concluded but unfulfilled deals for the export of Russian wheat reached a minimum level of 1.7 million tons (2.4 a month earlier), which is the lowest indicator since November 2022.
– From the beginning of the season to 26.04.2023, the export of grain from Ukraine reached 41.149 million tons (45.709 a year earlier), including 3.173 million tons in April (763,000). 14.156 million tons of wheat (1.158), 2.453 million tons of barley (177,000) and 24.216 million tons of corn (1.834) were exported.
– The government of Moldova has announced a tender for the sale of 21,083 tons of wheat from the state reserve. The aim is to replace stocks with the new 2023/24 crop.
– The European Commission has agreed to introduce a ban on the import of sunseed oil into the EU from Ukraine, but leaves transit for third countries free.
