Grain Highlights 30.02.2023

Turkey has bought 300,000 tons of milling wheat with 12.5% protein from Russia with delivery within March – April and prices of 308.1 – 310.9 USD/ton C&F.

– According to data from the Russian Grain Union, 2.95 million tons of wheat were exported from Russia in February (+24% compared to February 2022). Barley exports were 161,000 tons (+7.5%) and corn exports were 410,000 tons (-1%). Total grain exports reached 3.5 million tons (+19.5%).

– According to AgRural data, as of 24/02/2023, 33% of soybean areas were harvested in Brazil (+8% for the week and 43% a year earlier). The 2022/23 soybean production will reach 150.9 million tons.

– According to an estimate by the Agriculture Secretariat, 1.9 million tons of soybeans were processed in Argentina in January, which is 27% less than in December – 2.6 million tons (2.5 million tons in January 2022). Soymeal production was 1.3 million tons, and soyoil production reached 367,300 tons. In 2022, soybean processing was 38.4 million tons (4.24).

– Turkey has bought 48,000 tons of unrefined sunseed oil at prices of 1,159 – 1,173.8 USD/ton C&F and delivery within March – May.

– According to government data, Egypt’s wheat stocks are sufficient to meet domestic consumption for 4.6 months.
