According to a forecast of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club, the grain production in Ukraine will reach 30-35 million tons in 2023, and oilseed production will be 18-20 million tons.
– The Government of Russia has approved an export quota for the export of grain from Russia for the period of 15.02 – 30.06.2023 of 25.5 million tons. Over the period of 15.02 – 30.06.2022, the export quota for wheat was 8 million tons, and 3 million tons for barley and corn.
– During the period 01.07 – 31.12.2022, the export of wheat from the Russian port of Novorossiysk reached 8.2 million tons (6.9 a year earlier). The largest recipients of grain were with Egypt 1.7 million tons, Turkey with 1.2 million tons and Iran with 0.8 million tons.
– Over the period of 07/01/2022 – 01/09/2023, 23,598 million tons of cereals were exported from Ukraine (33,527 a year earlier), including 1.054 million tons since the beginning of January. 8,604 million tons of wheat (193,000 in January), 1,653 million tons of barley (27,000), corn 13,225 million tons (631,000) were exported.
– According to Oil World’s forecast, rapeseed production in the EU will be 19.6 million tons in 2023 (19.1), including 1.31 million tons in France (1.23) and 1.15 million tons in Germany (1.08).
– Chicago commodity funds were net sellers of 2,000 wheat contracts and net buyers of 500 corn and 6,000 soybean contracts on Friday.
– According to Anec’s forecast, Brazil’s corn exports in January will be 4.33 million tons (1.5 in December). Soybean exports are projected at 1.31 million tons (-0.2), soymeal exports are expected at 1.34 million tons (-0.04) and wheat exports are estimated at 280,720 tons ( -408,500). During the week of January 1-7, exports were 1.59 million tons of corn, 296,400 tons of soybeans, 275,300 tons of soymeal and 180,700 tons of wheat.
– Taiwan has announced a tender for the purchase of 45,200 tons of first class wheat from the United States with delivery within March 8-22.
– Turkey has announced a tender for the purchase of 565,000 tons of milling wheat of any origin and delivery within February-March.
– Algeria has lowered its wheat import requirements, allowing lower quality wheat to be purchased. Thus, it is possible for Russian wheat to participate in the tenders. According to the USDA forecast, wheat imports into the country will be 8.2 million tons in 2022/23.
– According to data from Oil World, in November 2022, the export of unrefined palm oil from Indonesia was 598,000 tons (+1000% compared to December 2021), and refined palm oil exports reached 2.2 million tons (+11%). The total export of palm oil during the month was 2.92 million tons (2.12). Largest customers were India with 682,000 tons (213,000), China with 582,000 tons (351,000), EU with 298,000 tons (265,000), Pakistan with 272,000 tons (240,000), USA with 128,000 tons (91,000) and Bangladesh with 126,000 tons (91,000). Over the period of January – November, exports were 24.85 million tons (25.99), including 3.8 million tons for China (4.3), 2.7 million tons for the EU (3.4) and 2.3 million tons for Pakistan (2.4).
