SovEcon have raised their forecast for wheat exports from Russia in 2022/23 to 43.7 million tons (+0.3) in connection with the current high export rate.

– SovEcon have raised their forecast for wheat exports from Russia in 2022/23 to 43.7 million tons (+0.3) in connection with the current high export rate. The export potential is estimated at 50 million tons.

– After the prolonged drought in France, the sunseed production estimate has fallen to 1.7 million tons (1.8 in the previous estimate).

– According to USDA data, 8% of the planned areas remain to be sown with winter wheat in the United States. 30% of crops are in good and excellent condition (45% a year earlier), 36% are in fair condition (33%) and 34% are in bad and very bad condition (22%). Soybeans have been harvested on 94% of the areas.

– Yesterday, Chicago commodity funds were net sellers of 4,000 contracts of corn, 4,500 contracts of soybeans and 1,500 contracts of wheat.

– According to Conab data, as of 11/05/2022, 58% of the planned areas were sown in Brazil (+10% for the week and 67% a year earlier). 43% of the areas (+3% and 54%) were sown with the first corn crop.

– In 2021/22, the largest supplier of barley to Saudi Arabia was Australia with a share of 68% of total imports (38% in 2020/21) followed by the EU with 14% (19%), Ukraine with 9% (5%) and Russia with 9% (39%).

– Indonesia is expected to import 350,000 tons of soybeans to supply domestic food producers.

– In 2022/23, the corn production in Bangladesh reached 4.8 million tons (-2% compared to 2021/22). In 2021/22, corn imports were 1.95 million tons (-20% compared to 2020/21), and in 2022/23 they are projected to reach 2.2 million tons.

– Iraq has announced a tender for the purchase of 50,000 tons of milling wheat from the United States. 150,000 tons of durum wheat were purchased at the previous tender.
